Inventing for children with ADHD

Inventing for children with ADHD has only been examined to a small degree. While there have been studies of the creative capacity of ADHD-ers, they've mostly been conducted in neurotypical brains. However, there have been similar results for gifted individuals in non-ADHD populations.

According to Tony Doyle, director of the ADHD Foundation, ADHD-ers come up with unique combinations of information and are more likely to use divergent thinking to overcome knowledge constraints. Academics call this imaginative divergence.

However, researchers are still uncertain of the exact causes of ADHD. Some suggest genetic factors and environmental influences. Others believe that ADHD is a result of brain damage. However, most researchers agree that ADHD symptoms are related to impaired attention and impulsivity. This disorder is often diagnosed in childhood.

The disorder was first described by British pediatrician Sir George Frederick Still. He first referred to it in lectures and articles. Still noted that symptoms were unrelated to intelligence, and described the behavior of a group of "behaviorally disturbed" children.

Inventing for a basketball court

Inventing for a basketball court was the first step to creating a basketball game that could be played indoors. Previously, basketball was played on fields, running tracks, and cement. Basketball courts have been standardized over time, but the game still has a lot of variations.

A basketball court is a rectangular floor surface with a hoop and two baskets. Each basket is about 10 feet tall. The rim of the basket is always about three and a half feet above the floor. Players can move the basket by dribbling or passing the ball. The game begins when the ball is thrown in the air by the referee. The team that scores the most points wins.

A basketball court is typically 91 feet long by 50 feet wide. There is a halfway line in the middle of the court. There is also a free throw line and a three point line.
